For breast and thyroid conditions Dr Oliver can provide immediate diagnostic ultrasound of the breast and thyroid, as well as ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration and core biopsy. This allows the provision of a streamlined and quick assessment.

Dr Oliver has developed expertise in implant-based breast reconstruction following mastectomy.

Research and Clinical Trials 

Dr Oliver provides, participates and contributes research data to the Australian Breast Device Registry and has been involved in a number of important clinical trials, such as 
  • the International Breast Cancer Study Group DCIS trial, 
  • The Sentinel Node vs Axillary Clearance Trial (SNAC), 
  • the TARGIT trial (intraoperative radiotherapy), and 
  • a local trial of the provision of information for contralateral prophylactic mastectomy;
Dr Oliver is the organiser and chair of the SJOG Murdoch Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Treatment Team;
